What This Pack Makes

The two 2-inch tips on the 5-inch cable make a 9-inch (23 cm) circular; on the 6-inch cable, a 10-inch (25 cm) circular. The two 3-inch tips on the 6-inch cable make a 12-inch (31 cm) circular, and one tip of each length on the 6-inch cable makes 11 inches. ChiaoGoo's instruction for the 5-inch cable: use it with the 2-inch tips only, since a longer tip puts strain on the join. Longer [M] cables, sold separately in 8, 14, 22, 30, and 37 inches, take these tips up to a 43-inch circular for magic loop, and a 3-pack of 2-inch [M] cables lets you create flexible double points with your tips. For 2-inch and 3-inch tips, US-000 through US-3 use the Mini [M] join, so every ChiaoGoo tip, cable, and connector marked [M] works with this pack, including the cables in the Red Shorties Set and the 4-inch and 5-inch Mini sets. The boundary moves with tip length: on 4-inch and 5-inch tips, US-2 through US-3 take the Small [S] join instead.

Questions About This Pack

Will one pack knit a sock without magic loop or double points?
Yes. The 9- and 10-inch circulars from the 2-inch tips are the small-circumference lengths for socks, mittens, and sleeves knit directly in the round, and the 3-inch tips on the 6-inch cable make 12 inches for larger sleeves and baby hats. Pick the size your pattern calls for.

Combo pack or a Shorties set?
A pack is one size with two cables and no accessories, so it is the way to try short tips, or to add a size a set does not have. A set is several sizes with three cables, connectors, end stoppers, markers, keys, a gauge, and a pouch. Buying more than two or three sizes as packs costs more than the set that covers them.

Do the tips come loose while knitting?
They can if they are only finger-tight. These tips have two tightening holes. Snug each tip with one of the keys through a hole at the join, and check them now and then. Keeping your ChiaoGoo tips secure walks through it.

Do my other ChiaoGoo tips and cables fit?
Anything marked [M] does: Mini cables in every length, the Red Shorties Set, and the 4-inch and 5-inch Mini tips. Full-length US-2 and US-3 tips are [S], not [M]; the [S] tips to [M] cables adapter puts them on these cables.

Where do I get end stoppers and connectors?
The Mini Tools Kit has two [M] connectors, two [M] end stoppers, two keys, six stitch markers, and a gripper in a small plastic case. A connector joins two cables into one longer cable; end stoppers turn a cable into a stitch holder.

Is there a warranty?
