Description
ChiaoGoo's swivel adapters add rotational freedom to your existing TWIST red cables and X-Flex blue cables. These small adapter pieces install between your needle tips and cables, allowing the cable to swivel freely at the join while keeping your tips and cables securely attached.
What they do:
The swivel feature prevents cable twist during knitting. This is particularly useful with QUADS square tips, where the square shape naturally wants to rotate in your hand. Instead of the cable twisting as you work, the swivel adapter allows the cable to rotate independently.
Choosing the right adapter size:
The swivel adapters use the same join sizes as ChiaoGoo cables:
Small [S] adapters fit tips in these sizes:
- 2-inch and 3-inch tips: US 4 (3.5mm) through US 8 (5mm)
- 4-inch and 5-inch tips: US 2 (2.75mm) through US 8 (5mm)
Large [L] adapters fit tips in these sizes:
- 3-inch tips: US 9 (5.5mm) through US 11 (8mm)
- 4-inch and 5-inch tips: US 9 (5.5mm) through US 15 (10mm)
Note: Mini cables (for the smallest tip sizes US 000-1.5 and US 0-3 in short lengths) do not have swivel adapters available.

Usage notes:
Use swivel adapters on both ends of your cable for full rotational freedom.
If you use Blue Shorties, add a swivel adapter to just one end to increase knitting comfort while keeping a shorter cable length for small circumference projects.
Note: These adapters add swivel functionality to your existing cables. If you prefer a cable with a built-in swivel, consider the SWIV360 cables instead.
