The Stripology Squared Mini squares up blocks and half-square triangle units from 2 1/2 to 6 1/2 inches, using the same slit system as the full-size Stripology Squared in a ruler small enough to handle one block at a time. Designed by Gudrun Erla, it carries whole, half, and eighth inch markings on one side, with quarter and three-quarter inch guides on the reverse.

How to Use It

White squares radiate from the center of the ruler in half inch increments up to 6 1/2 inches. Center the square that matches your target size on the block, line the diagonal and horizontal guides up with the seams, then cut through the two slits at the square's edges. To cut squares apart into triangles, lay the stack on point on the mat, align the white diagonal dotted lines with the block's edges, and cut through the 0 slit or the 6 1/2 inch slit; the 0 slit suits left-handed cutting, the 6 1/2 inch slit suits right-handed. Flip the ruler over for 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch cuts. The Mini squares blocks up to 6 1/2 inches; larger blocks call for the Stripology Squared or XL.
