- Main fabric (body and pockets): 1⅛ yards / 1¾ yards
- Lining fabric (body and pockets): 1⅛ yards / 1¾ yards
- Coordinating fabric (zipper strips, inner pocket and divider, stabilizer sleeve, handles, bindings): 1½ yards / 2⅛ yards
- Sturdy base fabric such as vinyl, canvas, or cork: 10" x 25" / 12" x 33"
- ByAnnie's Soft and Stable (58" wide): 1 yard / 1½ yards (one 36in x 58in for Large; add one 18in x 58in for Extra-Large)
- Fusible interfacing: ¾ yard / 1 yard (e.g. Shape-Flex Fusible Woven Interfacing)
- Handbag zipper (YKK #4.5): enough tape and two pulls for a 24" (30") zipper closure and a 13" (16") outer combo pocket. The large tote uses two 24" single-slide zippers; the extra-large uses one 24" single-slide and one 30" double-slide, all cut from ByAnnie's Zippers by the Yard.
