Description
For transferring a design onto fabric for hand embroidery, cross stitch, punch needle, or quilting, these are 12 printable sheets of self-adhesive, wash-away stabilizer. Print or copy the design onto a sheet, stick it on the fabric, stitch through it, and rinse it away.
What's Included
12 white sheets, 8-1/2 x 11 inches, with instructions and a free Vintage Heart-Wreath embroidery pattern.
How to Use It
Load a sheet in the printer or copier so the design prints on the fabric side, not the release sheet, and use the light (draft) setting. Peel off the release sheet and smooth the printed design in place on the fabric. After stitching, cut away the excess, then soak the project in warm water for 2 to 3 minutes, or rinse it under running water from top to bottom until all the ink flows away. Air dry on a towel or in a dryer if the project allows; if any stiffness remains, repeat.
Sulky also lists it for transferring designs for machine quilting and monogramming, and as a topper or backing in machine embroidery.

Fit and Limits
Printers and inks vary, so Sulky advises a test print to check that the ink does not bleed and washes out completely; if it bleeds, use a different printer or copier. Some fabric finishes and sizings keep it from sticking; soaking and drying the fabric first removes them. The project has to go in water for the sheet to rinse out. WonderFil's Rinse Away Design Sheets do the same job, with a gridded backing for planning the design. For machine embroidery on items you cannot hoop, Sulky makes Sticky+, a temporary self-adhesive tear-away. For covering the back of embroidery so it does not scratch the skin, Sulky makes Tender Touch, a permanent iron-on cut-away.
