Description

What's Included
One black leather thimble with a plate, and a thin black cord that ties across the back of the finger to hold it in place. The package instructions are in Japanese.
How to Use It
Sashiko is Japanese hand-stitching rooted in the mending traditions of rural Edo-period Japan, worked in running stitch with heavy cotton thread. Slip the thimble onto your middle finger with the leather on the palm side, and tie the cord across the back of the finger. Rest the eye end of the needle against the plate and push while you stitch into the cloth.

Fit and Limits
The thimble covers the palm side of the finger only, and the fingertip stays bare. For a metal plate on an adjustable ring, Clover's Adjustable Ring Thimble with Plate does the same job.
