Olympus sashiko thread is 100% cotton, six strands twisted together, with a matte finish. Olympus makes it in Japan, and each skein holds about 22 yards (20 m). Smartisans carries ten colors: white, off white, gold, green, sky blue, cobalt blue, navy, rose red, red, and black. White on navy or indigo cloth is the traditional sashiko pairing. Each color pairs with sashiko needles and a sashiko thimble.
