Description
For holding a long quilting ruler steady while you rotary cut, this is a handle with two suction cups that lock onto the ruler with latches. Your hand rests on the handle, above the ruler and away from the cutter's path, and applies even pressure without a tight grip.
What's Included
One Original Gypsy Gripper: a lavender handle with a rubberized purple grip over two suction cups, each with its own latch. The package lists it at 11.7 x 4 x 3.7 inches.
How to Use It
To attach, flip up the latches, press the handle firmly against a smooth part of the ruler, and press the latches down. Make sure neither cup sits over a hole in the ruler. To remove, flip the latches up, lift the vinyl tabs at the edge of each cup to break the suction, and then lift the handle away. The Gypsy Quilter warns that pulling straight up without first releasing the cups can damage the mechanism.
For small rulers and templates, The Gypsy Quilter makes the Amazing Little Gripper, a one-cup handle. The Gypsy Quilter's No-Slip Grip Dots stick to the back of a ruler to keep it from sliding on fabric.

Fit and Limits
Both cups need a smooth area, so the ruler must be at least 4 inches wide and 12-1/2 inches long, not counting the hang hole. The cups will not hold over holes or slots in the ruler. Smaller rulers and templates take the one-cup Little Gripper.
