How to Use It
Place the printed pattern beneath the mat. The mat is transparent, so every shape can be positioned exactly over its outline, and the surface is slightly tacky, so pieces stay where they are set. Press with a hot iron; the material withstands up to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C), so multiple layers can be fused in one pass. Once fused, the whole unit peels up cleanly and moves to the background fabric as one piece.
The mat protects the work surface from fusible glues while pressing. A Teflon pressing sheet is not included, so pairing the mat with one, such as the Goddess Pressing Sheet, adds a barrier between soleplate and fusible when pressing from the top. The same heat resistance makes it a working surface for glue gun projects; dried glue flakes off. Clean the mat with soap and water or run it through the dishwasher; washing also restores the tack.
