The Thread
Olympus spins this thread in Japan for the long running stitches of sashiko. The 100% cotton strand has a smooth, matte finish, so finished stitching sits on the cloth as soft, light-absorbing lines rather than glossy embroidery, and its consistent thickness keeps row after row of stitches even. It draws smoothly through woven cotton and linen without fraying under the repeated pull of a long sashiko needle.
The Color
