Description
Keep the small parts of an interchangeable set where you can find them. This hinged metal tin holds the connectors, stoppers, adapters, and keys that make a set of tips and cables do more, and it is small enough to live in a project bag. It is the same tin that ships inside the FORTÉ 2.0 set. This kit includes:
- 4 cable connectors, two Small [S] and two Large [L], each joining two cables of the same size into one longer cable
- 4 end stoppers, two [S] and two [L], which turn a cable into a stitch holder
- 2 adapters that put an [L] tip on an [S] cable
- 2 tightening keys
- 2 darning needles and 2 safety pins
- 20 metal stitch markers
- 1 heart-shaped rubber gripper

What This Kit Does
A connector turns two cables into one, so a 22-inch and a 30-inch cable become a 52-inch cable for a shawl or a blanket edge. End stoppers hold live stitches on a cable while the tips go onto another project. The two adapters are [L] to [S]: they let a US-9 or larger tip knit on a Small cable, which is what makes a Complete set's large tips usable on every cable in the case. The gripper gives your fingers purchase on a tip while the key snugs the join.
Everything here fits the [S] and [L] joins used on 4-inch and 5-inch tips, so it works with TWIST, SPIN, FORTÉ, and any ChiaoGoo cable marked [S] or [L]. Mini [M] gear is a different size, and the MINI Tools Kit is a smaller kit: a gripper, two [M] cable connectors, two [M] end stoppers, two tightening keys, and six stitch markers, with no adapters, darning needles, or safety pins.

Questions About This Kit
Which way do the adapters go?
Both adapters are [L] to [S]: a Large tip on one end, a Small cable on the other. They do not step an [S] tip down onto an [M] cable; that one is sold on its own in our Interchangeable Adapters listing.
Will these fit my MINI set?
No. The MINI [M] join is smaller than [S]. The MINI Tools Kit is the one for [M], and it is a shorter list: a gripper, two connectors, two end stoppers, two keys, and six stitch markers.
How long a cable can I make with the connectors?
As long as the cables you own. A connector joins two cables of the same join size end to end, and a second connector adds a third. Remember that the cable label is the cable alone: tip plus cable plus tip is the tip-to-tip length.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. ChiaoGoo's lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects for as long as the product should last in normal use. Lifetime means the life of the product. ChiaoGoo requires purchase from an authorized dealer, which Smartisans is.
