What This Set Knits

Six-inch double points are the sock length: long enough to hold a quarter of a sock's stitches without crowding, short enough that the free ends stay out of the way. The same needles work mittens, glove fingers, sleeve cuffs, and the tops of hats. Which size do I use for sock yarn?
