At 12 inches finished it is sized for 10-inch Layer Cake squares, so a single Layer Cake pulls enough fabric for a stack of scrappy stars with little waste. The cover sample uses cheerful reproduction-style prints on cream: red checks, blue and pink florals, and aqua tonals. The same block reads completely differently in solids, holiday fabrics, or a monochrome scheme. Also available in 4-inch (ISE-7011) and 6-inch (ISE-7012) sizes.

The pad has 42 sheets; two sheets join to make one 12-inch block, so a full pad yields 21. Each foundation is printed with shaded color-placement diagrams and fabric cutting sizes, and the pad includes a quilt layout guide.
What You'll Need
The star points use contrasting fabrics and the corners use a background fabric. This size is built around 10-inch Layer Cake squares, so a single Layer Cake pulls dozens of prints for a scrappy effect; scraps and other precuts work too. Yardage or fat quarters keep the background consistent across blocks. Beyond fabric, the usual foundation paper piecing kit is all that's needed: rotary cutter, an Add-a-Quarter or similar ruler, small scissors, a glue stick or pins, and a shorter machine stitch (around 1.5mm) so the paper tears away cleanly.
