This pattern makes a small zipper-top bag from one fat quarter of hand-dyed wool, 9 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 5 inches tall, with crosshatch quilting outside and six pockets inside. What the Pattern Includes
The printed pattern, flower and leaf templates for an optional applique, and two Size E stainless steel stays with rubber tips, enough for one bag. The directions are for a hand-dyed wool bag with a non-directional cotton print as the coordinating fabric. This listing does not include wool, fabric, interfacing, zipper, or thread.
For a second bag, or to replace the stays in a finished one, the Size E bag stays (AT632) come in a 2-pack.

- Outside bag body and outside bottom: one fat quarter of hand-dyed wool, 16 x 26 inches
- Inside lining, pockets, inside bottom, binding, bows, and tabs: 1 yard of coordinating cotton fabric, which is also enough to cut the outside bottom
- Bag body and zipper tab interfacing: 1/4 yard of Bosal In-R-Form Plus, a double-sided fusible foam 58 inches wide; the 58 x 36 inch package covers it
- Bottom: 1/4 yard of Bosal Craftex Plus, 20 inches wide, or Bosal's precut Mini Poppins Bag Bottoms
- Stays: the pattern includes two
- Zipper: one 24 inch handbag zipper with double slides, which you cut to size; ByAnnie's Zippers by the Yard make one from the tape and two pulls
- Thread: piecing thread to match all fabrics, and 12 weight cotton thread (Aurifil or Sulky) for hand sewing, to match the coordinating fabric and the applique wool
- Optional applique: several 3 inch squares of hand-dyed wool for the flowers and leaves, and 1/4 yard of paper-backed fusible web
- Tools: sewing machine with a walking foot, steam iron, parchment paper or a Teflon sheet, large and small scissors, pins, Clover Wonder Clips, paper, rotary mat, rotary cutter, and acrylic rulers, iron-off chalk or a Frixion pen, seam ripper, size 5 milliner's needles, wool applique needles, freezer paper, and a tape measure; template plastic is optional
