Description

A snap closure usually calls for a setting tool and a few test taps to get the pressure right. ByAnnie's Tool-Free Snaps go on by hand instead. Each one secures a pocket, flap, or bag closure with nothing more than a small hole and a firm press, so there is no press, anvil, or pliers to buy or haul out. The fashion cap on this set has a black metal finish that coordinates with ByAnnie's other metal hardware.

What's Included

This listing is for the snaps only. Each package contains four complete snap sets. One set makes one closure, and each set includes:

  • 1 fashion metal cap in black metal for the visible, exterior side
  • 1 low-profile plastic cap for the hidden, interior side
  • 1 plastic stud and 1 plastic socket that lock together to form the closure

How to Use Them

Mark the snap placement on both layers that need to meet. Make a small hole at each mark; an awl or stiletto pushes through woven fabric and stabilizer cleanly. Seat a cap from the outside so its post comes through the hole, set the matching stud or socket piece onto the post from the back, and press the two together by hand until they lock. Repeat for the other half so the stud on one piece meets the socket on the other.

The metal finish is on the cap only. The stud, socket, and low-profile cap underneath are plastic, which keeps the finished closure light and thin. These work best through bag-weight layers. A very thick or stiff stack can be more than the snaps will grip.
