A magnetic closure that does not show from the outside changes how the front of a bag looks. The package holds two complete closures, which is two positive pieces and two negative pieces, plus a small reusable snap-top case that works for buttons, pins, or other small notions. Each magnet sits in a 30mm (about 1-3/16 inch) pliable vinyl setting square, with the positive piece marked with a plus and the negative with a minus.
How to Use Them
Place a magnet smooth side down against the back of the lining and sew around the edge of the vinyl setting square with a standard foot, sewing needle, and construction thread. There are no prong holes to punch and no special tools to buy. Pair a positive piece to a negative piece with their flat sides facing each other so the closure reaches full strength, and test the orientation before the final stitching. Because the magnets are strong, cover each one with interfacing or a facing so the vinyl square does not wear loose over time.
