Description
For guiding a quilt under the needle during free-motion quilting, these are two foam disks you set on the quilt and move with your palms, the way you would use quilting gloves. Each disk has a different foam on each side, so you can turn it to the side that grips your fabric best.
What's Included
Two disks, one small and one large: the small disk is 2-3/4 x 4 inches and the large is 3-1/2 x 5 inches, both 1/2 inch thick. Each is two layers of foam, one blue and one black, around a hard white core.
How to Use It
Hold the smaller disk under your right hand and the larger under your left, as The Gypsy Quilter directs, then set them on the quilt and begin stitching. The right hand works in the narrower space inside the machine's arm, so the smaller disk fits there, and left-handed quilters use the same placement. Move the quilt by moving the disks, adjusting your hands and the disks as you go. Because the disks do the gripping, your hands rest on them instead of pinching the quilt, which The Gypsy Quilter notes reduces hand fatigue.

Fit and Limits
Each disk covers the area under one palm, and the pair has one disk for each hand. The Gypsy Quilter says the two foams give a good grip on most fabrics, so try both sides on the quilt at hand.
