Cuppa is a celebration of the simple pleasure of a hot drink. Sue Spargo fills a 38-inch-square quilt with decorated cups, worked in her signature layered wool appliqué with creative embroidery on top, so every cup carries its own color, texture, and stitched detail.
Like the rest of Sue's work, the richness comes from building up the surface: hand-dyed wool laid in layers for dimension, velvets and textural fabrics for contrast, and decorative embroidery worked over the appliqué. Stitching one cup at a time keeps a detailed quilt approachable.
