An 8-pointed star whose points weave over and under one another at the center, the construction that gives the block its name. At 4 inches finished it uses 5-inch charm squares for the points, so a single charm pack pulls enough fabric for many scrappy stars with little waste. The cover sample uses cheerful 1930s-style feedsack prints on cream in red, blue, pink, and floral multicolors. The same block reads completely differently in solids, holiday fabrics, or a monochrome scheme. Also available in a 6-inch size (ISE-7012).

This listing is for the printed foundation paper pad. Fabric, thread, and notions are not included.
The pad has 42 sheets, and each sheet makes one Woven Star block. Each foundation is printed with shaded color-placement diagrams and fabric cutting sizes, and the pad includes a quilt layout guide.
What You'll Need
The star points use contrasting fabrics and the corners use a background fabric. The pad is sized for 5-inch charm squares, so a single charm pack pulls dozens of prints for a fully scrappy effect; scraps work too. Yardage or fat quarters keep the background consistent. Beyond fabric, the usual foundation paper piecing kit is all that's needed: rotary cutter, an Add-a-Quarter or similar ruler, small scissors, a glue stick or pins, and a shorter machine stitch (around 1.5mm). At this small scale, accurate cutting matters a bit more.
